LGBTIQA+ Inclusion Workshops for Leaders

Goodwill isn't the problem. Most leaders want to get this right. What's missing is knowing where their decisions shape LGBTIQA+ people's experience at work, and what to do about it.

These are practical, tailored workshops that turn good intentions into action.

What is the

LGBTIQA+ Inclusion Workshop for Leaders?

A practical workshop for leaders enabling them to create safe, supportive and inclusive environments for LGBTIQA+ staff, clients, and stakeholders. It builds understanding of how LGBTIQA+ people experience workplaces, and then focuses on the decisions, processes and team practices leaders control. The outcome is clear, practical next steps for each leader in the room.

Understanding LGBTIQA+ Experiences at Work

  • Build confident, current understanding of LGBTIQA+ identities and language

  • Understand what research tells us about LGBTIQA+ people's experiences at work

  • Recognise how sexuality and gender intersect with race, disability, age and culture

  • Understand the role of family and community for LGBTIQA+ people, and why workplaces matter in that

Where Systems Fall Short

  • Shift focus from individual attitudes to the structures that shape inclusion

  • Identify where exclusion shows up in everyday systems, from forms and data to leave, facilities and dress codes

  • Understand the specific barriers trans and gender diverse people face at work

  • Apply an LGBTIQA+ inclusion lens to recruitment, promotion and the processes you own

Leading the Change

  • Know how to respond when things go wrong, including misgendering or a comment that lands badly

  • Support staff who are coming out or affirming their gender, and protect confidentiality around their identities and experiences

  • Create visibility and safety with clients, peers and at events, in ways that are credible, not performative

  • Respond to backlash and genuine concerns with confidence, without stepping back from your commitments

What your leaders will gain

Clear understanding of how LGBTIQA+ people experience work

The ability to spot where systems quietly exclude

Confidence to respond well when things go wrong

Steadiness to handle backlash without backing down

Clear actions for their own
team and area

I’ve done a lot of diversity and inclusion workshops before and usually I walk away feeling a bit accused or condemned. With Bree it was completely different. They asked the hard questions and pushed us to reflect, but did it in a way that felt safe and supportive. It was the first time I left one of these sessions actually energised and wanting more. I’d love for my whole team to do this with Bree.

  • Intersectional from the start

  • Designed to fix systems, not people

We tailor our delivery to suit a range of learning styles and access needs. If your team has specific requirements, we’re happy to accommodate.
